What this website does with your data, in plain words. Short version: nothing is stored about you unless you book a table or say yes to analytics.

Visiting the site
Our web host keeps standard server logs — the address your connection comes from, the time, the page requested and the browser used — to keep the site running and to spot abuse. They are kept for a limited period and are not combined with anything else. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure website.
The headings and text are set in two typefaces, Fraunces and Karla, served by Google Fonts. Your browser fetches the font files from Google's servers, which see your IP address in the process. We plan to host the fonts ourselves; until then, that request happens on every page.
Links to Google Maps, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and WhatsApp take you to those services, where their own privacy policies apply. We do not embed any of them on our pages.
Google Analytics — only if you agree
We would like to know which pages help guests find us: how many people read the menu, whether they arrived from a search or a map, which city they are in. For that we use Google Analytics 4, and it does not run until you choose “OK” in the notice at the bottom of the page. If you choose “No thanks”, or your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, no Google Analytics script is loaded at all.
When it runs, Google Analytics records the pages you visit, the approximate location of your connection (city level), your device and browser type, how you reached the site, and a few clicks we care about: calling, opening the map, sending a booking on WhatsApp, enlarging a dish photo. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses; advertising features and Google Signals are switched off. Reports are kept for 14 months. The processor is Google Ireland Limited, with Google LLC in the United States as sub-processor under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time with the button below. Withdrawing stops future collection; it does not delete reports already produced, which contain no name or address.
Booking a table
The booking form on the Find Al Reem page composes a message on your own device and opens WhatsApp with it. Nothing is sent to us, or stored on this website, until you press send inside WhatsApp. The message — your name, phone number, date, time, number of guests and any note — then reaches the restaurant's WhatsApp, where we keep the conversation only as long as it takes to handle the booking. WhatsApp is a service of Meta Platforms Ireland; its privacy policy covers the message in transit. Legal basis: the steps needed to take your reservation.

Cookies and stored data
The site sets no cookies on its own. Your analytics choice is remembered in your browser's local storage, not in a cookie, and never leaves your device. Google Analytics sets cookies only after you agree.

Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask us what we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to how it is used, receive it in a portable form, and withdraw any consent you gave. Email alreemrestaurant.manager@gmail.com or ask at the restaurant; we answer within a month. You can also complain to the Portuguese supervisory authority, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados.
